Join us for the UCL Engineering Inaugural Lecture Series where we will be celebrating Dr. Anthony Klotz's achievements, as he delivers a talk on “The Energizing Effects of Nature in the Workplace”. Anthony is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour, specialising in research that focuses on understanding employees’ relationship with work, through the lenses of resignations, citizenship behaviour, and biophilic design. Being a leading figure in his field, his research has been published in top management journals, and he has also written for Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, and MIT Sloan Management Review.
Anthony is also known for having coined the phrase “The Great Resignation” in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek in May 2021. He has discussed the current state and future of work with media outlets including CNN, The Today Show, the New York Times, the BBC, and NPR, and with executive teams at numerous Fortune 100 organisations.
Dr. Anthony Klotz research reveals how companies around the globe are redesigning work and workspaces in ways that bring employees in closer contact with nature. But why are they doing this? During this talk, Anthony will explain the science behind the impact of nature on the way workers think, feel, connect with others, and perform at work. In doing so, he shows how we can improve our work lives by building more nature into our workdays. Moreover, giving leaders the knowledge of how to design jobs that energise employees and create a more sustainable world of work.

Our Inaugural Lectures are free to attend for all students, staff and members of the public.
Lectures are typically one hour long. A reception will follow to which everyone is welcome to join.
