Are you passionate about sustainability and digital transformation? Do you have a start-up idea that you are eager to develop?
In collaboration with SustainTech consulting company Tecno International the UCL School of Management SustainTech Pitching Competition are looking for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs seeking to help the planet and its people. To enter this exciting competition, you will need to complete the form and submit a video pitch of no more than 4 minutes in length that should provide a strong overview of your business idea, including the name, purpose and objectives of the business, as well as the problem/s that your business would hope to solve.
After you have submitted your pitch, our team of sustainability experts will review all submissions and the selected teams will be invited to pitch their idea to a panel of judges for the chance to win one of three prizes:
- Best Pitch
- Best Idea and,
- Audience Choice Award
The winning team for each category will receive a £1,000 cash prize, 12 month Business and Technical Mentorship, and an introduction to Tecno International's business partners.
We will be accepting applications until Sunday 18 May 2025 at 23:59 BST and curated finalists will be notified by Tuesday 27 May 2025 where you will be invited to pitch at The UCL School of Management SustainTech Pitching Competition. We were delighted to receive entries from UCL staff, alumni and current students with start-up ideas covering a multitude of sectors, making it difficult to whittle it down to a select number of finalists. In 2024, we awarded the Best Pitch to Re-Block, the Best Idea to Ouroboros and the Audiences Choice Award to ReOvum. In 2023, we awarded the Best Pitch to BioBright, the Best Idea to Sahel AI and the Audiences Choice Award to Phyta Biodesign.
Join us for an exciting evening to support UCL entrepreneurs on Monday 09 June 2025
The evening will consist of a keynote speech from Allegra Fortunato, Head of Operational Strategy from Tecno International, followed by a roundtable discussion featuring UCL Associate Professor of Operations & Technology and Marketing & Analytics, Steve Yoo and former winners of the competition. Finalists will then pitch their start-up ideas in front of a panel of industry experts, before concluding with an awards ceremony and a catered networking session, which will bring together and connect likeminded professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the world.
