Join us on Friday 13 June from 14:00 - 17:30 BST for the third edition of the UCL School of Management SustainTech Pitching Competition!
Hosted in collaboration with SustainTech consulting company Tecno International, we have designed this event to bring together a community of entrepreneurs to lead a more sustainable future. With the effects of climate change only becoming more apparent, businesses need to find more sustainable ways to operate. Join us to learn more about how these entrepreneurs hope to use their businesses to leave a positive impact on the planet and its people.
The event will take place on Level 50, One Canada Square, E14 5AA - the tallest classroom in the UK
The selected finalists will pitch their business ideas to a panel of sustainability experts for the chance to win one of three cash prizes (£1,000 each):
- Best Pitch
- Best Idea
- Audience Choice Award
The winning team for each category will also receive a 12-month Business & Technical Mentorship and introductions to Tecno International’s business partners.
During the event, we will also hear from:
- Allegra Fortunato, Head of Operational Strategy at Tecno International
- Bella Tonkonogy, Senior Director of Programmes at the Climate Policy Initiative
- Professor Steve Yoo, Co-Founder and Director of the UCL Centre for Sustainable Business
We will conclude the event with a networkgin reception bringing together like-minded professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the world.

Learn more about the 2024 and 2023 winners
We were delighted to receive entries from UCL staff, alumni and current students with start-up ideas covering a multitude of sectors, making it difficult to whittle it down to a select number of finalists. In 2024, we awarded the Best Pitch to Re-Block, the Best Idea to Ouroboros and the Audiences Choice Award to ReOvum. In 2023, we awarded the Best Pitch to BioBright, the Best Idea to Sahel AI and the Audiences Choice Award to Phyta Biodesign.
