Angela Aristidou speaks at AI Action Summit in Paris

Earlier this month, UCL School of Management Assistant Professor Angela Aristidou was invited to speak at the AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais in Paris. Held annually, this year’s Summit saw the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) launch its Scientific Panel on AI and Economic Inclusion, with Angela joining a panel of AI experts to mark the occasion.

An independent and global science organisation, the IPIE showcases new and innovative knowledge on the health of the world’s information environment. With hundreds of researchers contributing to the IPIE mission from across the globe, the organisation uses the latest advances in policy science to address key societal issues.

During the Scientific Panel on AI and Economic Inclusion, the panel explored the ways ways to prevent gender, race and class-based discrimination in employment. At the Summit, Angela discussed her latest research on artificial intelligence and the significance of AI voice in the prosocial settings of health, non-profits, higher education and humanitarian aid.

Discussing the event, Angela stated, “The AI Action Summit was a fantastic opportunity to bring forward discussions surrounding partnerships and collaboration, as well as scale and business models. My research team and I have been examining AI adoption in real-world organisations for a couple of years now, and it was great to find ourselves at the front row of this development with research evidence to inform the conversations.”
