UCL CSB named in the Financial Times Responsible Business Education awards

UCL School of Management is delighted to announce that its research on impact investing has been highly commended in the 2025 Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards. This recognition highlights its significant contribution to advancing impact investing strategies and improving social impact measurement methodologies.

Co-authored by Professor Paolo Taticchi, OMRI, Chiara Andreoli, Catrina Daly, Chiara Cremasco, and Dr. Jan Dauman, the IMmPACT research project — “Guidelines for Participatory Impact Measurement and Management”—addresses power imbalances in decision-making that influence the dynamics of impact projects. The guidelines introduce a multi-stakeholder decision-making framework, advocating for a systemic, transparent, and participatory approach to impact measurement and management.

The project engaged with over 30 leading stakeholders in impact investing, fostering the development of an Impact Community as part of the newly launched UCL Centre for Sustainable Business. This initiative ensures that impact measurement remains practical and aligned with industry needs, supporting investors, social enterprises, and policymakers in creating measurable and sustainable outcomes.

Professor Paolo Taticchi, OMRI, commented: “We are proud that our research has been recognised by the Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards. This highlights the growing importance of structured and participatory impact measurement in financial decision-making. Through the newly launched UCL Centre for Sustainable Business, we remain committed to shaping best practices that enable investors to drive measurable, positive change while achieving financial returns.”

Dr. Jan Dauman added: “Impact investing is a rapidly evolving field and our research allows us to develop insights that drive responsible investment practices. The guidelines provide investors and businesses with the tools to integrate robust impact measurement frameworks into their operations.”

The Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards celebrate academic research that drives meaningful societal and environmental change. This project, supported by the John Ryder Memorial Trust, aims to shape the future of impact investing by ensuring capital allocation is both financially viable and socially responsible.
