Biography
Simon has spent over a decade at the intersection of cities, innovation, and real estate, creating and leading initiatives that have generated more than $1B in economic impact. He co-produces the Urban Tech Summit at Cornell Tech, helped launch the first urban tech incubator in the U.S. with NYU and the NYCEDC, and was a Strategic Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Obama Administration. In 2017, Simon founded CIV:LAB, a nonprofit developing and funding place-based innovation programs across New York, Detroit, and Los Angeles. Simon is a Founding Fellow at the UCL Centre for Sustainable Business and lectures on cities, entrepreneurship, and innovation at University College London, Imperial College Business School, and NYU’s Center for Global Affairs where he was the Kissane Energy Fellow during his Masters Degree. He serves is on several boards including world renowned architecture firm, Terraform One, where he serves as the Chair. Simon’s work focuses on building collaborative solutions to society’s greatest challenges to create triple-bottom-line impact.
