UCL Fee Partnerships
UCL has partnerships with a variety of external funding providers in which the university offers a contribution towards tuition fees. These are typically in partnership with governments and not-for-profits.

Applications for the awards listed should be made directly to the external funding body (via the links provided), following their established procedures. Applicants must apply directly to UCL for a place on a programme of study at the same time. Applicants selected for the relevant external awards, who are also offered a place at UCL, will then automatically qualify for the fee contribution.

All UCL postgraduate courses are eligible for a Lendwise student loan. “Home” students can borrow towards tuition fees and living expenses for postgraduate or professional qualification studies. Full-time programme students have access to a grace period that allows for repayment to start after graduation.

How to apply

The application process is online. UCL will be required to verify your course attendance before any funding is released. Rates depend on an applicant’s overall profile and you can submit an application at any time.

Loan funds requested for tuition will be released directly to UCL and will be applied towards your tuition. Loans for living costs will be paid directly to you. Details on eligibility requirements, interest rates and other key terms of a Lendwise student loan are featured on their website.

Each student's journey through their studies will be different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to costs as each student will prioritise different things according to their own needs.

Typically students will need to consider the following categories of costs:

  • Tuition fees
  • Any additional costs for materials, trips and visits
  • Cost of accommodation in London
  • Transport around London
  • Food
  • Extracurricular activities with UCL or the UCL Students Union
  • Exploring London
